Our Mission

EMCED (East Mississippi Center for Educational Development, Inc.), located at Mississippi State University/Meridian Campus, is a regional educational service agency committed to assuming a strong leadership role in supporting public educators’ efforts to develop quality learning environments in which all children can learn and all children can obtain a quality education. EMCED partners with 24 central Mississippi School districts and Mississippi State University to promote high-quality instruction in the classroom and overall school improvement by improving and enhancing the personal and professional effectiveness of educators. This is accomplished through high-quality accessible professional development opportunities and support services provided in an efficient and affordable format.

We Can Provide CEUs for Your Training Sessions

Is your district looking for opportunities to provide your staff with professional development? We can approve your district’s professional development for CEU credits!

CEUs are offered in one-hour increments, but can only be offered for a minimum of five hours. For example, if you have a training that has seven hours of classroom instruction (not including lunch or break times), we can offer you 0.7 CEU credits.

To see if we can offer credits for your professional development, you will need to fill out a form and send it to us along with the trainer’s resume/vitae and a timed agenda.
